Synopsis: Dubbed Bernadette Peters’ doppelgänger, award-winning performer Mia Gimenez makes her Australian stage debut with Almost Bernadette — a sparkling cabaret and heartfelt love letter to Broadway’s most beloved icon.

More than a tribute, this glittering one-woman show celebrates the songs, stories, and spirit that shaped Mia’s artistry and inspired her signature persona, MiaSings. From the poignant “Move On” to the sultry “Fever” and the haunting “Losing My Mind,” Peters’ classics are reimagined through Mia’s queer lens, interwoven with personal stories of identity, resilience, and transformation.

Singing with wit, warmth, and vulnerability, Mia blends classical vocal mastery with the intimacy and humour of cabaret. A proud queer artist and founder of Gimenez Voice Academy, she champions inclusion, authenticity, and artistic courage — now bringing her Broadway flair and sunny coastal charm to Brisbane in a glittering celebration of legacy, queerness, and self-expression.
