Title: The Little Mermaid (My First Ballet Series)

Synopsis: A spellbinding underwater adventure based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairytale, this joyful, family-friendly ballet follows a courageous young mermaid who dreams of life above the waves and falls in love with a human prince. With magical sea creatures, dramatic turns, and an underwater wonderland brought to life in movement and music, the story explores love, courage and sacrifice. The production is choreographed by Paul Boyd with narration by Sarah McIntosh and performed by the Queensland Ballet Academy Pre-Professional Program to recorded music by Jean Sibelius.


Performance Dates: 18 – 23 December 2025

Performance Times: Multiple session times across each day (e.g., 11:30 am, 2:00 pm, 6:30 pm, plus Relaxed Performances)

Warnings: Uses haze, smoke effects and flashing lights; some characters (like the Sea Witch) may be a little scary for very young children.

Recommended Age: Suitable for families and children, but note sensory effects and dramatic scenes.
