Synopsis: In this classic British farce by Edward Taylor, chaos is served with a side of lies and laugh-out-loud moments. Jim Watt, a London stockbroker, is hosting an important dinner for his conservative boss and his wife—who are firmly against permissive lifestyles. Problem is, Jim's live-in girlfriend, Helen, refuses to play the part of a respectable wife, leaving him without a dinner partner, a cook, or a plan.

Desperate, Jim ropes in his delightfully eccentric cleaning lady, Edna, to impersonate his wife for the evening. But when Helen unexpectedly returns—followed by Jim's enthusiastic young assistant Terri—the farce truly begins. As lies pile up and wives multiply, Jim scrambles to salvage his dignity, his dinner, and his job in a hilarious comedy of errors.
