Synopsis: Let Springboard Opera introduce you to Jules Massenet’s opera Thaïs in a condensed, intimate format. This one-hour retelling focusses on the emotional and spiritual journey of Athanaël, a monk determined to convert the courtesan Thaïs to a life of spiritual devotion, only to find his own passions transformed. The performance combines powerful singing, expressive storytelling and Massenet’s celebrated music (including Méditation), accompanied by an engaging two-course meal from Fairplay Kitchen’s chefs, making for a unique cultural and gastronomic Sunday experience.
