Synopsis: Red Dirt Hymns is a contemporary song cycle by composer Andrew Ford, setting the words of some of Australia’s leading writers to music. Featuring texts by poets including Sarah Holland-Batt, John Kinsella, and Ellen van Neerven, the work celebrates the beauty of everyday life—transforming ordinary moments into lyrical, reflective “secular hymns.” Blending classical, jazz, and contemporary influences, this intimate concert invites audiences to explore modern song and the Australian landscape through music.
