Season: August 28th - September 12th, 2026

Title: An Ideal Husband

Presented By: St. Luke’s Theatre Society

Genre: Comedy / Classic Theatre / Political Satire

Synopsis: Sir Robert Chiltern is a brilliant politician with a spotless reputation and, to his wife, the very model of an ideal husband. But when the scheming Mrs Cheveley arrives with a secret from his past, his career and marriage are suddenly at risk.

Desperate to protect the life he has built, Sir Robert turns to his effortlessly witty friend Lord Goring, setting off a web of blackmail, political intrigue, romantic complications and sparkling comedy. Packed with Oscar Wilde’s trademark wit, An Ideal Husband explores the fragility of perfection and asks whether love can survive when the people we admire turn out to be human.
