Title: Dead Bat on the Night Shift
Presented By: Observatory Theatre in co-production with PIP Theatre
Genre: Comedy / Thriller / New Australian Theatre
Synopsis: Sloane has been receiving messages from the universe. The Hanging Man tarot card keeps appearing in her library books, her early period is an omen of impending doom, and now there’s a dead bat hanging from the powerlines.
Apparently, all of these signs can only mean one thing: it’s time to kill her evil boss and save everyone at the call centre.
With help from Reddit, dodgy gun deals and advice from her dead mother’s ghost, Sloane sets out to become the perfect assassin. But when a familiar face unexpectedly turns up at work, she begins to wonder whether she might be allowed to want something more from her life than murder.
Dead Bat on the Night Shift is a darkly hilarious comedy thriller taking aim at toxic workplaces and hustle culture, while exploring big feelings, social and political commentary, gender and satire.
