Synopsis: Dear Son is a powerful, heartfelt world premiere adapted from the book by Thomas Mayo, based on letters and reflections from First Nations fathers and sons. This unique theatrical experience celebrates First Nations manhood through intimate letters written by notable Indigenous men including Stan Grant, Troy Cassar-Daley, and others. Adapted by renowned First Nations theatre makers Isaac Drandic and John Harvey, the play explores themes of family, culture, and resilience, honouring the wisdom passed through generations while addressing the challenges faced by First Nations men today. With compelling performances from Jimi Bani, Trevor Jamieson, Aaron Pedersen, and others, combined with evocative music and movement, Dear Son is a touching message of love, togetherness, and hope for the future.
