Synopsis: Frank is a university English tutor in his fifties whose disillusionment with life has led him to seek refuge in books and alcohol. Into his world bursts Rita, a spirited and outspoken 26-year-old hairdresser determined to change her life through education.

Initially reluctant to engage with his enthusiastic new student, Frank gradually finds himself challenged and inspired by Rita's curiosity, honesty and determination. As their teacher-student relationship develops, both discover unexpected truths about themselves, leading to profound personal transformation.

Written by acclaimed playwright Willy Russell, Educating Rita is a funny, moving and insightful exploration of class, education, friendship and self-discovery. The beloved play was later adapted into the award-winning film starring Michael Caine and Julie Walters.
