Mary Chase's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece follows the charming and kind-hearted Elwood P. Dowd, whose best friend is Harvey—an invisible, six-foot-tall rabbit. While Elwood's unwavering kindness delights everyone he meets, his eccentric companion drives his sister, Veta, to desperation. Determined to avoid social embarrassment, she attempts to have Elwood committed to a sanitarium, setting off a hilarious comedy of mistaken identities, misunderstandings and heartwarming revelations. First performed in 1944, Harvey remains one of theatre's most beloved classics, celebrating kindness, imagination and the magic of seeing the world differently.
