THEATRE: Nell Gwynn - QLD Conservatorium, Metro Arts

28 Feb 2026

Season: February 28th - March 7th, 2026

Title: Nell Gwynn

Presented By: Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Metro Arts

Genre: Theatre / Acting

Synopsis: The Stage was built for men, until Nell arrived. Nell Gwynn charts the rags-to-riches story of Nell, London’s first actor-ess (“female actor”), in a saucy, irreverent, not-entirely-historically-accurate but very entertaining look into this woman’s life, featuring the controversial introduction of female performers, a King’s desires and the trials and tribulations of breaking a glass ceiling within a possessive world of theatrical performers.
