Synopsis:

Celebrating Queensland Seniors Month, this lively performance features three comedic and farcical short plays:

1. Gertrude the Governess – By Stephen Leacock, adapted for the stage by Mary McMahon.A farcical romp with the eccentric inhabitants of Nosham Towers, where Governess Gertrude's fate unfolds amidst cold baths and Irish gentry antics.

2. A Present for the Queen – By Mary McMahon.Queen Elizabeth I is notoriously hard to please—just ask her executioner! But a delightful surprise awaits the cranky monarch in this witty short play.

3. A Wife for All Seasons – By Mary McMahon.Follow King Henry VIII on his zany quest for the perfect wife, as he fumbles through marriage after marriage in this riotous royal comedy of errors.

Seniors Perform encourages those over 60 to participate in theatre, both onstage and behind the scenes. The 3 plays are "Read & Move" performances, allowing actors to perform with scripts in hand.
