DRAMATIC THEATRE: The Children - A Moveable Theatre, PIP Theatre

4 June 2025

Season: June 4th - 21st, 2025

Title: The Children

Presented By: A Moveable Theatre and PIP Theatre

Genre: Dark Comedy / Drama

Synopsis: As the fallout from a nuclear disaster looms just beyond the coastline, retired nuclear engineers Hazel and Rob receive an unexpected visit from Rose, a former colleague with a hidden agenda. As the trio reflects on their past and confronts their present, a confronting question arises: When do we take responsibility for the world we leave behind?

Inspired by the Fukushima disaster and set against the backdrop of Australia’s real-world nuclear debates, Lucy Kirkwood’s The Children is a gripping, morally complex, and darkly humorous exploration of legacy, accountability, and the quiet horror of growing old in a world you helped create.
