Synopsis: After the End by Dennis Kelly is a tense psychological drama exploring power, control, and perception in extreme circumstances. When two colleagues find themselves isolated in a bunker after a catastrophic event, their relationship shifts in unsettling ways, revealing deep insecurities, manipulation, and conflicting versions of reality.


Audition Date: Friday 20 March

Audition Time: From 12:30PM

Audition Location and Address: Room G07 Theatre, Griffith University Gold Coast


Audition Requirements:

  • Prepare one of the provided monologues

  • Be familiar with the Louise and Mark excerpt

  • May be asked to read an additional monologue at the director’s discretion

Audition Registration:

  • No booking required (first in, best dressed)

Mark

Age Range: 20s - Mark is a socially awkward office worker who has spent years feeling invisible and undervalued. Beneath his quiet exterior lies deep insecurity and resentment toward the social structures that exclude him. When given control, he attempts to rewrite the narrative and position himself as the hero.

  • Socially awkward and insecure

  • Obsessive and resentful

  • Controlling and manipulative when empowered

Louise

Age Range: 20s - Louise is confident, intelligent, and socially adept, used to respect and admiration. In a deeply unsettling situation, her confidence shifts into strategic thinking as she works to understand and survive. Her strength lies in emotional intelligence and perceptiveness.
