AUDITION NOTICE: Abigail's Party - Spotlight Theatrical Company

Title: Abigail’s Party

Presented By: Spotlight Theatrical Company

Genre: Comedy of Manners

Synopsis: It’s the 1970s: a time of cheese-and-pineapple sticks, paisley prints, and Demis Roussos. Beverly and her husband Laurence are hosting a drinks party for their new neighbours, Tony and Angela, along with divorced neighbour Susan — whose teenage daughter, Abigail, is holding a party of her own nearby. As drinks flow and tensions rise, Beverly flirts, Laurence sulks, and bickering escalates into drunken dancing. The night ends in a way no one expects. Mike Leigh’s Abigail’s Party is a biting satire of British middle-class aspirations — hilarious, cringe-worthy, and unexpectedly moving.
