Synopsis: This Tony Award-winning musical tells the true story of Charlie Price, who inherits his father’s struggling shoe factory and finds an unexpected partner in Lola, a fabulous drag queen with a wildly exciting idea. Together, they transform the business and discover that sometimes the best way to fit in… is to stand out. With an uplifting score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, Kinky Boots is a heartwarming celebration of acceptance, friendship, and being unapologetically yourself.

  • Prepare material as outlined in the audition pack (sent upon registration).

  • Readings, singing, and/or choreography as per role requirements.

  • Drag performance experience encouraged but not required.

  • All roles are voluntary and unpaid (community theatre).

  • Charlie Price – Factory owner, passionate, conflicted, must sing tenor.

  • Lola/Simon – Fabulous drag queen with powerhouse vocals and presence.

  • Nicola – Charlie’s ambitious fiancée.

  • Lauren – Factory worker, quirky and comedic.

  • Don – Factory worker, hyper-masculine, comic relief.

  • Pat – Factory worker, sharp and outspoken.

  • George – Factory manager, loyal and practical.

  • Angels – 7 drag performers (dance, vocals, charisma required).

  • Ensemble (20) – Factory family, townsfolk, supporting roles.
