Title: Red Riding Hood: A Pantomime

Synopsis: The Big Bad Wolf is hungry, and he’s out to eat up Red Riding Hood. This time, he’s coerced the Three Little Pigs into helping him — but they’ll have to get through Jack and Jill first, along with Red’s mother, Dame Hood. Can the Fairy rally the Woodcutter and his son Billy to save Red and end the Wolf’s shenanigans? Or will the Wolf huff, puff, and get away with it all? This family-friendly pantomime is full of laughs, music, dance, and fairy-tale mischief.

Audition Requirements:

• Prepare the song listed for your chosen character(s) (see breakdown below). Karaoke backing track required.

• A short comedic monologue.

• Learn a dance to The Edge of Glory (Lady Gaga).

• Cold reads may be requested.

• Some improvisation may be required, especially for Dame Hood and Wolf.

• Three Little Pigs must perform a short tap dance and act with a passable German accent.

• All auditions will be filmed.

• Red Riding Hood – Young girl, our brave protagonist.

• Dame Robyn Hood – Red’s widowed mother. Male only (traditional Dame role).

• Jack – Young boy, Red’s friend, Jill’s brother.

• Jill – Young girl, Red’s friend, Jack’s sister.

• The Big Bad Wolf – Hungry beast, witty and mischievous antagonist.

• Fairy – Mythical spellcaster, sworn enemy of the Wolf.

• Laurence, Llewellyn & Bowen – The Three Little Pigs. Comic trio, one clever, one middle child, one dim. Require tap and German accent.

• Woodcutter – Father to Billy, Dame’s love interest.

• Billy – Son of the Woodcutter, Red’s love interest.

• Granny – Red’s adventurous grandmother.

• Ensemble – Villagers and Students.
