Title: Nineteen

Presented By: Javeenbah Theatre Company

Genre: Contemporary Australian Drama

Synopsis: What happens when you put a writer, a gym-rat, a tradie, and a stoner together in one share house? Add aggression, a shared ex, insecurity, and unwavering pride, and you have a recipe for manhood. But is that really what it means to be a man? Crafted from interviews with more than 90 young people, Nineteen explores masculinity among young Australian men, uncovering a confronting and complex world that few often want to talk about. The play examines the hope and fear of the next generation through four young men navigating relationships, vulnerability, identity, pride, and expectations of masculinity.
