Synopsis: Quartet by Ronald Harwood is a comic drama about three retired opera singers - Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred - living at a retirement home for artists. As they prepare for an annual concert celebrating Verdi’s birthday, their plans are thrown into chaos with the arrival of Jean, a former wife and diva whose presence reignites old rivalries. The play explores themes of aging, rivalry, friendship and the enduring passion for music.

Audition Date: Monday 23rd & Tuesday 24th February 2026

Audition Time: 7PM – 9PM

Audition Location and Address: Birkdale School of Arts Hall, 101 Birkdale Road, Birkdale

Audition Requirements:

• Group audition with cold script readings — no preparation of lines required.

• Bring comfortable clothing and an open mind; you may be asked to read and move in unexpected ways.

• Headshot and completed audition form emailed prior to attendance.

Warnings: Amateur community production, unpaid roles, commitment to full rehearsal schedule

Performer Age: Roles are generally 50+ but all are welcome to audition; age guidelines in character descriptions
