Title: Romeo & Juliet (Shakespeare in Bloom) – Vocalists (Workshop & Performance)

Synopsis: Vox is creating a Shakespeare in Bloom reimagining of Romeo & Juliet, featuring original music with the Roman astrological gods narrating and “pulling the strings of fate.” Vocalists will help devise/compose the score through workshops, with an option to continue into the rehearsal/performance season.

Audition Details:

Audition Date: Virtual audition due 5:00pm, Thursday 15 January 2026 Vox Theatre 2026

Audition Requirements:

• Submit video audition links (YouTube/Google Drive – ensure sharing permissions are set) including:

  • 1 x Classical/choir-style piece (max ~1 minute)

  • 1 x Contemporary / folk / indie / lyrical piece (max ~1 minute)

• Upload Artist CV/Resume

• Upload Headshot (for socials/program if successful)

Audition Registration: Submit the Google Form (includes uploading CV/headshot and providing video links)

• This is an amateur / volunteer opportunity (no paid roles)

• Vox annual membership fee: $25 (payable by close of first workshop/rehearsal)

Vocalist feature roles portraying Roman astrological gods:

• Luna – Soprano, femme-presenting, range ~C4–C6 (Goddess of the Moon; House Montague)

• Venus – Mezzo Soprano, femme-presenting, range ~A3–A5 (Goddess of love/beauty, etc.)

• Mercury – Alto, any gender, range ~F3–F5 (Messenger/underworld guide/trickster)

• Sol – Tenor/Baritone, masc-presenting, range ~A2–F4 (God of Sun; House Capulet)

• Mars – Baritone, masc-presenting, range ~G2–G4 (God of war/strategy)

• Jupiter – Tenor/Alto, masc-presenting, range ~D3–D5 (King of gods; sky/thunder)

• Saturn – Tenor/Baritone, masc-presenting, range ~A2–F4 (God of time/agriculture/wealth)
