Synopsis: The Miscast Musical Cabaret is a playful, celebratory evening of musical theatre with a twist. Performers are invited to sing songs they would never usually be cast in — whether due to age, gender, nationality, or type. Expect adults belting out children’s classics, unexpected casting choices, and familiar musical favourites turned on their head. This cabaret is about freedom, fun, and joyful subversion of traditional casting.

Audition Self-Tape Due: Saturday 31 January 2026, 6:00pm

Audition Requirements:

• Perform one full song from a musical

• The song must be a miscast choice (opposite of what you would normally be cast as due to age, gender, or nationality)

• Examples include adults singing children’s roles or performers tackling roles traditionally written for a different gender

Performance Location: Ron Hurley Theatre, Seven Hills

Performer Age: Adult performers (18+)
