  • Mollie Ralston – Female, 30s; Young owner of Monkswell Manor, recently married to Giles.

  • Giles Ralston – Male, 30s; Mollie’s husband, attractive, arrogant.

  • Christopher Wren – Male, 30s; Flighty, neurotic, guest at the Manor.

  • Mrs. Boyle – Female, 50s; Stern, bad-tempered guest who complains constantly.

  • Major Metcalf – Male, 60s; Retired British military officer.

  • Miss Casewell – Female, 30s; Masculine demeanour, aloof and mysterious guest.

  • Mr. Paravicini – Male, 50–60s; Foreign gentleman stranded by the snowstorm, eccentric.

  • Detective Sergeant Trotter – Male, late 30s; Arrives on skis to investigate a prior murder’s connection to the guests.
