Title: The Pink Hammer

Synopsis: Four very different women answer a flyer for “The Pink Hammer Workshop” — a ladies-only woodwork class. Expecting empowerment and sisterhood from tutor Maggie Taylor, they instead find Maggie missing in action. Maggie’s husband Woody is less than thrilled about a group of women invading his workshop, but he has little choice. As personalities clash and secrets emerge, the workshop becomes a journey of humour, healing, and unexpected connection.

Warnings: Themes of emotional trauma, separation, feminism, mortality, and adult relationships.

Performer Age: Adult performers. Character age ranges approximately 30s–60s.

Available Roles/Character Breakdown:

  • Annabel – Late 40s–50s. Counsellor in private practice and former feminist activist. Runs a Dickens book club. Wants to build a Victorian-style display cabinet for her Dickens collection.

  • Louise – 50s. Nurse caring for her parents. Carries emotional trauma and is easily startled. Wants to build a small house someday.

  • Helen – Late 50s–60s. Horse lover with two adult sons from different relationships. Independent and practical. Wants to build a coffin.

  • Siobhan – 30s. Irish veterinary clinic worker secretly in love with a married vet. Wants to build a luxury dog kennel.

  • Woody – 30s. Recently redundant carpenter separated from his wife Maggie. Gruff, practical, and out of his depth with the workshop participants. Wants to build a way to get the women out of his workshop.
