Title: Witness for the Prosecution

Presented By: Noosa Arts Theatre

Genre: Courtroom Drama / Mystery / Thriller

Synopsis: Set in London’s Old Bailey during the 1950s, Witness for the Prosecution follows Leonard Vole, a seemingly naïve young man whose life is overturned when he is accused of murdering a wealthy older woman he had befriended. As respected barrister Sir Wilfrid Robarts and solicitor Mr Mayhew prepare Leonard’s defence, questions emerge about his relationship with the victim, the evidence against him and the reliability of his German wife, Romaine—the one person who may be able to provide his alibi. When Romaine takes the stand and a mysterious stranger produces a collection of revealing letters, the case shifts in unexpected directions. Full of conflicting testimony, hidden motives and carefully constructed surprises, Agatha Christie’s courtroom drama keeps audiences questioning Leonard’s innocence until the final moments.
