Title: Rope

Presented By: St Luke’s Theatre Society

Genre: Psychological Thriller

Synopsis: Rope is a tense psychological thriller in which Wyndham Brandon convinces his impressionable friend Charles Granillo to commit murder purely for the thrill of it. They conceal the body in a chest and host a dinner party around it, inviting guests including the victim’s father. As the evening unfolds, suspicion grows—particularly from the perceptive Rupert Cadell—and the strain of their crime begins to unravel the pair.

The play, which predates the famous film adaptation by Alfred Hitchcock, presents a gripping exploration of morality, arrogance, and psychological pressure.
