JUNIOR AUDITION NOTICE: Junior Impact Ensemble - Empire Youth Theatre

Title: Junior IMPACT Ensemble 2026

Presented By: Empire Youth Arts

Genre: Youth Theatre / Performance Program


Synopsis: Since 2011, The Empire Youth Arts’ IMPACT Ensembles have been

challenging the assumptions made about young people and their

crucial role in our changing world and its future through storytelling and

performance. Junior IMPACT offers young creatives aged 10-14 and based in the Toowoomba Region*, the opportunity to share a story which speaks authentically and powerfully with the voice of young people.


Audition Date: March 9th & 12th, 2026

Audition Time: 3:30PM - 6PM (individual timeslots assigned after application submission)

Audition Location and Address: The Empire Theatre, 54–56 Neil Street, Toowoomba QLD 4350

Audition Self-Tape Due: Not applicable - in-person auditions only


Audition Requirements:

  • Prepare the scene from the audition pack (Nerry or Ed) to perform for the audition panel. Memorisation is highly encouraged.

  • Prepare and tell a short story (maximum 90 seconds) about a time or place you really felt you belonged.

Audition Registration: Submit completed application form via email to youtharts@empiretheatre.com.au or in person at the Empire Theatre Ticketing Office. Deadline: 3:00pm, March 5th, 2026.


Performance Dates: July 1st - 3rd, 2026

Performance Times:

  • Wednesday Preview - 6PM

  • Thurs & Fri - 6:30PM

Performance Location: Armitage Centre, Empire Theatre Precinct, Toowoomba QLD


Rehearsal Dates: Weekly rehearsals from March through June 2026, including April school holiday intensives.

Rehearsal Location: Empire Theatre rehearsal spaces, Toowoomba


Warnings: This is an intensive rehearsal and performance process requiring strong attendance commitment.

Performer Age: 10–14 years


Creative Team: Director - Grace Sankey (Youth Arts Lead)


Other Information: Participation fee - $495 (payable upon successful offer). Payment plans may be available.


Available Roles/Character Breakdown: Junior IMPACT Ensemble – 10 ensemble performers aged 10–14. This is a devised ensemble production with no pre-assigned named characters.
