Synopsis: Inspired by the Brothers Grimm tale, Hansel & Gretel is a brand-new world premiere ballet created for Ballet Theatre Queensland’s 90th Anniversary Season. Combining storytelling, original choreography and an evocative new score, this production offers young dancers the opportunity to originate roles in a new theatrical ballet work.

Audition Date: Saturday 30 May 2026

Audition Time:

• Junior Apprentice & Junior dancers: 2:30pm – 4:30pm

• Intermediate & Senior dancers: 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Audition Location and Address: BTQ Studios, 12A Windorah Street, Stafford

Audition Self-Tape Due (if applicable): Regional video submissions due 5:00pm, Friday 29 May 2026

Audition Requirements:

• Dancers aged 8–22

• Applicants assessed on audition work, artistry, age, and training level

• Intermediate dancers require a minimum of 1 year pointe training

• Senior dancers require a minimum of 2 years pointe training

• Applicants must upload a headshot and full-body dance photo

• Regional video submissions must include barre work and centre practice, or barre work and a ballet variation

• Contemporary variation optional for regional dancers
