Audition Requirements:

  • Auditionees should prepare for cold reads from the script.

"Only Nineteen" by Pat O'Callaghan

Synopsis: Decades after the Vietnam War, a man living alone in the bush with his memories wages a guerrilla campaign against land developers clearing the bushland.

Cast:

  • Main Character: Male, 70s

  • Real Estate Manager: Female, any age

  • Dozer Operator: Male, any age

  • Police Officer: Male, 20s-40s

  • Nineteen-Year-Olds: Three males, 19/early 20s

"The Biggest Disappointment" by Cheney Hossack

Synopsis: In the midst of a celebration, two sisters ask hard questions about who they are and the lives they want to lead.

Cast:

  • Sophie: Mid-late 20s. The older sister, always putting others first. In a relationship with Tom but does not want to marry him.

  • Lily: Early/mid 20s. Struggling to build a life outside her family's expectations.

  • Rebecca: Early/mid 50s. Loving mother who wants her daughters to be happy but feels she keeps disappointing them.

  • Tom: Mid/late 20s. Sophie’s boyfriend of 18 months. Plans to propose; lacks ambition but is kind.

"Politically Correct" by Jennifer Marie Sancho

Synopsis: Four inmates of an asylum—Jane Austen, Margaret Thatcher, Emmeline Pankhurst, and Florence Nightingale—must work together to agree on a plan to escape their incarceration.

"A Marriage is Arranged" by Alfred Sutro

Director: Elizabeth Womack

Synopsis: A single-scene play in which Mr. Crockstead, a self-made millionaire, proposes marriage to the noble but penniless Lady Aline de Vaux. Initially refusing, she eventually changes her mind after Crockstead makes a strange and unusual offer. A classic comedy of society.
