Join Toowoomba Rep in presenting two contrasting short plays on the vibrant South East Queensland Drama Festival Circuit. Running from July to September, this circuit includes multiple community theatre festivals across the region, each with adjudicators and awards for acting and production. It’s a brilliant opportunity to refine your craft, meet fellow creatives, and perform for audiences across SEQ.

Play One: Post-It® Notes on a Marriage

Genre: Romantic Comedy

Run Time: Approx. 20 minutes

Synopsis: In this touching and humorous homage to Love Letters, a couple’s relationship is chronicled entirely through the Post-it® notes they write one another—from their first meeting to old age. Featuring on-stage costume changes and prop use, this piece offers actors a chance to explore a broad emotional and age range.

He – 25 to 35 years
She – 20 to 30 years

Play Two: Mrs Thally F

Genre: Stylised Drama

Run Time: Approx. 40 minutes

Synopsis: A gripping, abstract reimagining of the story of Yvonne Fletcher—Australia’s first convicted thallium poisoner. This play explores themes of resentment, control, and the macabre with bold characters and stylised staging. Actors will take on multiple roles and perform on-stage transformations.

Elayne Fletcher (Vonnie) – 24 to 30 years
Mother/Multiple Roles – 50+ years
Mrs Roach/Mrs Witchard/Multiple Roles – 25 to 55 years
(Note: Ensemble members will also play doctors, police officers, a judge, and a prosecutor)
