Musical Director: Hayley Marsh

Assistant Director: Julie Eisentrager

Choreographer: Hannah Crowther

Role Descriptions

  • Ja’far (Male, Vocal Range: B2-A4): A disillusioned royal vizier who wants to bring prosperity to the kingdom but is misunderstood and unappreciated. Needs a powerful belt, strong comedic instincts, and dramatic acting skills.

  • Princess (Female, Vocal Range: G3-E5): A naive and sheltered royal teen longing for adventure, who matures and learns about inner strength throughout the story. Requires strong comedic acting and singing ability.

  • Aladdin (Male, Vocal Range: A2 - G#4): A 33-year-old self-centered street rat, manipulative and with no regard for others, especially interested in seducing the Princess. Requires strong comedic acting and singing ability.

  • Prince Achmed/Vizier (Male, Vocal Range: C3 - A4): Dual role; Prince Achmed is self-important and seeking validation, while the Vizier is lazy and greedy. Strong comedic acting needed.

  • Sultan/Djinn (Male, Dual Speaking Role): Djinn is a jokester who makes rapid pop culture references, and Sultan is a manchild ruler. Strong comedic acting and ability to do impersonations required.

  • Captain (Male, Speaking Role): Stoic leader of the guard, frequently blaming Ja’far for kingdom issues. This role also doubles as ensemble.

  • Sherrezade (Female, Vocal Range: G3 - D5): The story’s narrator, a natural storyteller with a vibrant personality. Confident singing and unafraid to address the audience.

  • Ensemble (Various Genders, Vocal Ranges): Versatile roles including townspeople, royal guards, handmaids, and iconic characters like Belle, Ursula, Scar, etc. Puppeteering skills required for some roles.
