JUNIOR AUDITION NOTICE: The Wishing Well - Play on Stage

Genre: Children's Theatre


Synopsis: Alma has never believed in wishes coming true—until she stumbles upon a mysterious Wishing Well in her local park. One wish turns into many, and soon Alma is caught up in a magical, unpredictable world where anything she desires could become real. The Wishing Well, written by Jack Barrett and Virag Dombay, is a whimsical and thought-provoking play that explores what happens when we’re given the freedom to wish without limits.


Audition Date: Monday 12 May 2025

Audition Time:

  • 5:30pm–6:00pm

  • 6:00pm–6:30pm

  • 6:30pm–7:00pm

  • 7:00pm–7:30pm

  • 7:30pm–8:00pm

  • Note: First in, best dressed. Younger auditionees will be prioritised for earlier slots.

Audition Location and Address: Play on Stage, 97 Fernberg Road, Paddington


Audition Requirements: No preparation necessary. Auditionees will participate in drama games and perform cold reads from the script.

  • Alma – Aged 8–12

  • Creature – Aged 8–12

  • Elliot / Coin – Aged 7–9

  • Mum / Snail – Aged 9–14

  • Dad / Bucket – Aged 9–14

  • All characters are described as quirky and fun to play.

  • Thursday 3 July 2025

Performance Times: 1:00pm daily

Performance Location: The Briswest Centre, 132 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington

Rehearsal Dates: Wednesdays: 14 May – 25 June

  • Additional rehearsals on Mondays: 16, 23 June

  • Final week rehearsals and performance calls from 30 June – 3 July

Rehearsal Times: Wednesdays & some Mondays, 5:30pm–7:30pm

Rehearsal Location: Play on Stage, 97 Fernberg Road, Paddington

Required Age: Auditionees aged 7–14

Other information: Performers will be paid according to the relevant Live Performance Award Rates for their age group during performance and call times. Rehearsals are unpaid (in-kind). Additional rehearsals may be added depending on venue availability in the final week.
