Step into the realm of horror as Ghostlight Theatre Co. and Redcliffe Musical Theatre present the spine-chilling play, "The Exorcist," adapted from the novel by William Peter Blatty. For the first time in Australia, experience the live performance of "the greatest horror movie of all time." AUDITIONS: March 24, 2024 TIME: 10am-2pm LOCATION: Theatre 102 - 102 Anzac Avenue, Redcliffe About the Play: Directed by Yasmin Elahi, this production promises to push boundaries and recreate some of the most iconic horror scenes. It will contain mature themes, horror elements, and intense physical and emotional roles. AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Must be over 18 years old to audition. Prepare a 1-2 minute monologue in a general American accent showcasing intensity and acting ability. Cold reads may be requested on the day. Roles include physically demanding and emotionally challenging characters. All auditionees will be emailed with their individual timeslot. CHARACTER ROLES: Regan (age 12): This is an extremely physically and emotionally demanding role that requires an actress with high stamina and tolerance, that could convincingly pass as a child. Chris (age 35-45): Loving, determined mother. Damien Karras (age 30s): Troubled priest. Father Joe (age 40s-50s): Devoted priest. Merrin (age 60s-70s): The Exorcist priest. Demon (any age): Voice-only role. Mary (age 60s-70s): Damien's mother - Voice-only role. Burke (age 30s-40s): Friend and surrogate uncle. Dr. Klein/Dr. Strong (any age): Medical doctors.
